Join us in Bitterne Park as we get ready for Christmas and the big celebration of our saviour’s birth. We’re kicking off with a party, and a candlelit carol service. Then on Christmas Eve we’ll have the crib service for families and traditional midnight communion followed by a family friendly Christmas Day celebration. It would be great if you could join us! All services take place at the Church of the Ascension, 1 Thorold Road unless stated otherwise.
Monday 2 December
Wreath making workshop 7.30pm. Join us for a wreath making workshop this advent. We’ll be creating a festive atmosphere with background music and mulled wine whilst you create your masterpiece. BYO greenery, wreath base and accessories included. £7.50 pp. Book online here by 18 November.
Saturday 14 December
Christmas ball 7.00pm. We’re getting together as a church family for the Christmas Ball. It’s going to be a fun festive evening with live music, tasty food and mulled wine. Tickets are £10 each and the dress code is your best party clothes. Book tickets online now.
Sunday 22 December
Traditional carols by candlelight 4.00pm in the worship space. Join us for a traditional carols by candlelight service with organ accompaniment.
Tuesday 24 December – Christmas Eve
Crib service at 4.00pm in the worship space. Bring the kids for a fun family focused nativity service – dressing up as a nativity character encouraged, and there’s going to be a puppet show too!
Midnight communion at 11.30pm in the worship space. Note the start time! This will be the traditional midnight communion service that you know and love with organ accompaniment.
Wednesday 25 December – Christmas Day
Christmas day celebration communion at 10.00am in the worship space. This will be a family friendly fun service where we can celebrate Christmas together.
Sunday 29 December
Morning prayer service at 9.00am. A simple spoken prayer service.
Sunday 5 January
Services begin again as normal for 2019.
