Join us in Bitterne Park as we get ready for Christmas and the big celebration of our saviour’s birth. We’re kicking off with a wreath making course and some candlelit services with Christmas music. Then on Christmas Eve we’ll have an crib service for families and Midnight Communion followed by a family friendly Christmas Day celebration. It would be great if you could join us!
All services take place at the Church of the Ascension, 1 Thorold Road unless stated otherwise. Services are subject to cancellations and changes in line with government guidance.
Saturday 27 November
Advent Quiet Day at 10.00am to 4.00pm. A day of quiet reflection and prayer, silence, and art for Advent. Please bring your own packed lunch, drinks provided. Suggestion donation of £5.00 per person to cover materials. Feel free to come for all or part the day.

Wreath Making Workshop at 7.00pm. Join us for a wreath making workshop, with festive refreshments and all materials included. SOLD OUT.
Sunday 5 December
Carols by Candlelight at 6.00pm. Join us for a candlelit service with Christmas carols and music from our Ascension musicians. Please be aware that face coverings are strongly encouraged, and socially distanced seating will be extremely limited. This service will be live streamed via our YouTube Channel.
Sunday 12 December
Townhill Park Christmas Celebration at 4.00pm at Townhill Park Community Centre. There will be games, craft, carols, food and the Christmas story.
Friday 17 December
Church Christmas Party at 7.00pm,
We’re getting together as a church family for a Christmas party. There will be a sit-down dinner, music and mulled wine. Tickets are £10 per adult, £5 per older child (under 16) and the dress code is your best party clothes.

Friday 24 December – Christmas Eve
Crib Service at 4.00pm. A Christmas service for all the family, why not come dressed up as a nativity character? Please be aware that face coverings are encouraged and socially distanced seating will be extremely limited.
Midnight Communion at 11.30pm. Join us as we celebrate communion together in a traditional service. Communion will be distributed in a safe and socially distanced way, and be of one kind. Please be aware that face coverings are encouraged and socially distanced seating will be limited.
Saturday 25 December – Christmas Day
Christmas day celebration service at 10.00am in the worship space. This will be a family friendly fun service where we can celebrate Christmas together. Face coverings are encouraged.
Christmas lunch at 12 noon in the cafe. Alone this Christmas? Don’t be, come and join the Church family for a traditional Christmas lunch with an the trimmings. Kids welcome too if it would just be you and the kids this year.
