We can’t quite believe that we’re in February already, but here’s some key things happening we want to tell you about

Newcomers’ Lunch

This Sunday we’re hosting a lunch for anyone who’s joined Ascension in the last 12 months. The team would love to get to know you, and it’s a chance to meet others who’ve also recently joined. Please sign up to let us know you’re coming so we can cater accordingly, including any dietary requirements

New Wine

We’re going to New Wine! From the 23 – 28 July we’ll be camping and joining thousands of other Christians in worship! If you’d like to come, you’ll need to book a ticket through their website, and state that you’re camping with Ascension Southampton. Find more details here.

Baked Potato Sunday

It’s back! Some of you might remember our famous Baked Potato Sunday where we have lunch together after the 10.45am service. You’ll need to bring a potato and a topping of choice (we put all the potatoes in the oven at the start of the service so they’re ready by the end), and mark the 20 March in your diary for it! It’s a real whole family effort…but we love it!

Evening Worship – 13 Feb

On the second Sunday of the month we hold a space for an evening of worship and prayer, seeking deep encounters with Jesus. Join us on Sunday 13th February at 6pm in the worship space

Gentle and Lowly

Lent is a time where we prepare ourselves for Easter, getting ready to contemplate Jesus’ death and celebrate his resurrection. We want to learn more about the heart of Jesus and will be going through the book ‘Gentle and Lowly’ by Dane Ortlund during Lent as a church family. If you’d like to buy the book, it’s available at all good bookshops or can be found here. We can’t wait to press in to what God has to say to us and show us as we approach EasterReal Easter Eggs

Launched in 2010, the Real Easter Egg is the only egg available that is both Fair Trade and has the Easter story in every box, whilst raising funds for good causes. You can’t get them in supermarkets this year, so order through us to get them,  without a p&p charge to boot. You can order online here.

If you do not want to order online, contact Helen Pain on a Sunday. She holds a paper order form and can give you a receipt for the payment.

Please order and pay by 7 March so we can send off for them and ensure they are ready for collection on Sundays 21 and 28 March.

Psalm 62: 5-8 • “Let all that I am wait quietly before God, for my hope is in him. He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress where I will not be shaken. My victory and honour come from God alone. He is my refuge, a rock where no enemy can reach me. O my people, trust in him at all times. Pour out your heart to him, for God is our refuge” •
