We are so excited for what God has in store for Ascension in 2022 and want to wish you all a happy new year as we look forward to the year ahead. Here’s some January news to be aware of!

Starting Wednesday 12 January at 7.30pm in the church café, we’re starting our next Alpha course. If you’ve never done one, it’s a chance to explore the big questions of life and faith and is for people who have been following Jesus for a long time, or don’t know who Jesus is at all. Come along or invite your friends! Find more info here

Sunday evening worship

On the second Sunday of every month we’re hosting an evening of worship and prayer. Our aim is to give more time and space for encountering Jesus through worship and ministry, and pray for breakthrough within our community and for each other. Come and join us this Sunday at 6pm and stay for as long or as little as you’d like to.

Although we’ve just finished Christmas, we’re already thinking ahead to Easter! Often we’ve looked at a book together as a church during Lent, and this year we’ll be going through Dane Ortlund’s ‘Gentle and Lowly’. It’s not a necessity to buy it, but we are highly recommending it! If you’d like to get ahead and start reading, it’s available from all good bookshops or via this link

Food and clothing donations

If you’d like to donate clothing to the Basics Bank, we’ve now got a bright green bin in the car park you can post your clothes donations in, so there’s no need to wait until the church is open! The food crate is still outside the worship space for any dried or tinned foods, and they are currently very low on tinned mixed veg, tinned carrots and long-life milk (UHT).
