It’s the 1 June, which means we’re bringing you some updates of what’s happening in the next few weeks!

Jubilee celebrations

On Sunday 5 June at 4.00pm, we’re hosting a big party to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. Join us at Townhill Community Centre for Jubilee themed games and food, and invite your friends! If you’re feeling like some bank holiday baking, we’d love as many people as possible to make scones, which can either be brought to the Sunday morning services or brought to the event.

Wellbeing Café

It’s the second Wednesday of the month next week (8 June) which means it’s our next Wellbeing Café. From 1.00-3.0ppm, church will be open for anyone to chat, be pointed in the direction of support, or simply enjoy coffee and cake.

Pentecost and worship evening

This Sunday is also Pentecost, where the national Church celebrates the coming of the Holy Spirit we read about in the Bible in Acts chapter 2. As it’s the Jubilee weekend, we’ll be tying in our usual evening Pentecost celebration with our evening service on Sunday 12 June, 6.00pm, where we’ll be spending lots of time in worship, expecting to encounter God. We’ll still be focusing on Pentecost in both morning services!

Ordinations – Save the date!

Very excitingly, on the 2 and 3 July, Mac will be ordained a priest, and Lorna will be ordained a deacon, at Winchester Cathedral. As spaces at the Cathedral are limited, at the 10.45am service on the 3 July, we’ll be showing the relevant snippets of the Cathedral live stream after the service, and are inviting everyone to stay for a bring and share lunch! Mac and Lorna will join us with their family from the cathedral, and it’ll be a wonderful celebration of what God is doing through them. For lunch, we’d love to see pasta salads, breads, dips, crisps, fruit, puddings, or anything else tasty!

Finally, we continue to praise God for all that he is doing within our church community and wider family. • ‘Full of splendour and majesty is his work, and his righteousness endures forever. He has caused his wondrous works to be remembered; the Lord is gracious and merciful’ • Psalm 111: 3-4 •
