This week Andy brings us our update video, focusing on entering ‘ordinary time’ in the Church calendar and how God is still at work amongst us

Church open for private prayer

The government announced during Wednesday’s press conference that churches can re-open for private prayer next week. From Monday the Ascension church building will be open from 9-12noon on Sundays, Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. We are following strict rules on social distancing and hygiene to keep you safe, and ask that you follow these too. Please do not attend if you have any symptoms of the COVID-19 virus

You are allowed to attend with members of your household, but groups meeting within the space allocated for private prayer will not be allowed

Those who are in a clinically high-risk group or considered vulnerable such as those over 70 are strongly advised not to enter the building for their own safety and the safety of others

Be assured we are following government and Church of England guidance as closely as possible and will keep the church updated with any changes taking place

Also this week, many of us have been deeply impacted by the recent events concerning racial injustice. We’ve put together this document as a response and as a small but significant step in the right direction. It includes how you can bring about real change within our community and world as we encourage acting on injustice
