This week Peter brings us our Sunday message on this Father’s day, along with a few members of our church community
This week in our small groups we are looking at Mark chapter 3 in our Gospel of Mark series. Lauren brings us our resource for this week – find it here – you might find it helpful to read the chapter in your personal booklet beforehand
Church Open for Prayer
Last week we opened the church for private prayer, following government guidelines. We are so glad people are finding it helpful. A reminder that those who are considered vulnerable or are over 70 should not attend at this time. Be assured we are monitoring government advice closely for any updates
Eileen and Ron need someone to help with their shopping… Kim needs someone to mow her lawn and walk her arthritic dog… can you help?
These are typical referrals that we are receiving in the East Cluster run for Southampton City Council & NHS by SO:Linked.
All of the referrals for help delivered by Mutual Aid and Love Southampton across the city during the pandemic have emanated from here and Ascension along with Thornhill Baptist Church are providing a Christian input to the direct support provided by So:Linked now
To get involved and make a difference, being Christ’s hands and feet in our community, we have Stepping Forward – Ascension Community Team, and we wonder how you can contribute – time, compassion, resources?
As the pandemic moves into a second phase, beyond the great work already accomplished by Mutual Aid and Love Southampton; as the first wave of unemployment hits and adds an expanded need for food bank services and the logistics of ensuring school children are fed throughout the summer months – the number of volunteers will need to grow – can you help?
The majority of help will be packing and delivering food parcels, but as you can see Eileen and Ron need people to shop for them and Kim has other needs too
Peter Goodall and Gregg Ramirez are coordinating our volunteers and they can be contacted on 07403 331319 and 07450488211
