We’re so excited to be welcoming two new trainee priests, also known as ordinands, to our community.

First up, we have Lauren…

Hi, I’m Lauren. I’m married to Mark and we have two children, Ava (8) and Ben (6). We are all getting used to a really exciting new chapter as I begin my time as an Ordinand at Ascension Church. I’ll be studying at St Mellitus College and look forward to meeting the church family at Ascension and the wider community over the next two years. I have been involved in youth ministry for around 10 years. During that time Mark and I set up a youth homelessness charity now known as Fledge, based in Eastleigh Borough. We love the Church and believe local Church can a home and a family in an often lonely community.

…and next we have Lorna:

Hi! I first came to Ascension as a student in 2015 when I was studying Audiology at Southampton Uni. I worked in the NHS for a couple of years before recently starting ordination training. I am married to Marc and have a big love for baking, indoor plants and board games! I’m passionate about seeing students find and share Jesus whilst at uni and run the student ministry at Ascension. My call to ordination has been inspired by wanting to see the local church grow and thrive as God intended, and see others from all backgrounds know Jesus!
