New student? Welcome to Southampton! We love having students as part of our regular worshiping community and wider church. We do all we can to help as you grow abundantly in faith and step out in mission during your time at university. You’ll find that at the core of our student work at Ascension are two concepts – support and challenge.
Ascension student events
The Sunday Night is a monthly gathering of all our students. We spend time worshiping together, and intend to equip you to live out your faith where you are now, and for life after uni too. Join us this term on 30 Sept, and 7, 14 and 21 October at 7.00pm.
If you come along to the 10.45am service, we’re running post church meals from 30 Sept – 21 October for students to give you a chance to get to know each other and have some quality food.
Cell groups run throughout the week, and meet weekly. You can meet with other students while encouraging and challenging one another on your walk with Jesus. Find out more about our smaller groups.
Feel at home in Southampton
We try to link every student up with a family from the wider church, which allows us to easily get to know one another, and give you a proper home cooked meal from time to time too.
Also, every student has the opportunity to be mentored 1-to-1 by one of our student team. Uni can be difficult, and we want you to feel supported, challenged and equipped in order to live for Jesus in your everyday life.
We run a student weekend away in the spring term, which we’ll let you know about closer to the time!
We also love to go on mission adventures, such as homeless food runs – things to stretch and grow you, and to bless those around us, as you live as a missionary at uni.
