Simon’s study leave
Simon will be on study leave for 3 months (July-Sept). We will miss him dearly, but across the staff team we will spread the load and continue everything as normal. Please pray for his time away.
Just Money Talk
As part of the ‘Great Big Green Week’, the speaker gave a talk on “Money and the economy from a faith perspective”. She challenged us to think of our money and financial resources as part of our Christian stewardship. There was lots to take away and the church has a list of items to work on.
YouthFest Update
In June, 170 young people from 12 churches across Southampton gathered together for a weekend of fun and worship. Our young people attended seminars on a range of topics, heard from brilliant guest speakers, and celebrated God with friends new and old as we looked at our topic of “One Church”. We are so grateful to everyone who helped out with the weekend and made it possible!
New Ascension Curate
Lucy was Ordained on 28th June and will be staying with us as a self-supporting curate while continuing with her university job. To celebrate this new role, we are holding a Bring & Share lunch at Ascension on Sunday 12th July 12:30. Please sign up and let us know what food you can bring using this MealTrain link.
Prayer Day
We will have a prayer day on Tue 21st July to Encounter God, Reflect, Pray & Refresh as we reflect on Hebrews 12 v1–3 and explore a range of interactive prayer stations. There will be 2 sessions 1pm-5pm and 7:30pm-9:30pm. Small groups are encouraged to attend if possible.
Organ Recital
Our Organist is running a concert of organ music inspired by the Holy Trinity – Father, Son and Holy Spirit on Sat 1st Aug 7:30pm-9pm at Ascension. Tickets are £13.55 – Please sign up and pay via Ticket Source. Free ticket for refreshment volunteers, please contact the office if you would like to volunteer.
Sunday Evening Services & Edge Crew in July
We will still have our 12th July Sunday 7pm Service, but will pause for August and restart in September. As well we have Edge Crew on Sunday afternoon (5th & 19th July) at Townhill Park. These will also pause for August and restart in September.
Finally, we want to leave with you with a verse from Psalm 62 1-2: Truly my soul finds rest in God; my salvation comes from him. Truly he is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will never be shaken.
