Welcome to our August Newsletter with exciting updates and events.
Sundays in August
The 9am service will take place as normal during August. There is no Children & Youth work in August, so the 10:45 service will be an all-age service with kids’ activities. Evening services and Prayers walks are on-pause for Aug and will resume in Sept as usual: Evening services every 2nd Sunday and Prayer walks every 4th Sunday.
Prayer Walk for Townhill Park Summer Events – 12th August
We would love you to join us for a Prayer Walk around Townhill Park as we pray over the area ahead of the planned Summer Events – see below. Meet at the EDGE Hub (123 Meggeson Ave) at 11am on Wednesday 12th August. All welcome.
EDGE Hub Creativity Week
At the EDGE Hub, 123 Meggeson Ave, we will be hosting a week of Creativity in August. More details on the website or contact Sandra with any questions:
- Mon 17th 2-4pm: Cowboys & Cowgirls Fancy Dress Party
- Tue 18th 11am-1pm: Splat Attack, messing around with paint
- Wed 19th 10am-12pm & 1-3pm Creative Writing Jam
- Thurs 20th 1-3pm: Dangerous Design with a Textile Takeover
Summer Hoe-down: 22nd August
The EDGE Hub Summer Hoedown (2pm to 7pm) is a free family fun event in Townhill. Enjoy line dancing, face painting, tin can alley, horseshoe tossing, sombrero decorating, and much more. There will also be a free cowboy BBQ supper along with live music. Volunteers are still needed, so please signup in Church on the Welcome desk – Thank you.
Townhill Park Vision Evening
On Sept 15th 7pm at Ascension you are warmly invited to join us for a vision evening as we share some of the stories that have shaped Townhill Park and prayerfully seek God’s voice as we move into the next phase of this important mission work with The Ark, a new worshipping community for the people of Townhill Park.
Big church clean-up
Like all busy buildings, every so often they need a thorough tidy up. On Saturday 19th Sept we plan to get a group of volunteers together to de-clutter, tidy, and clean various areas in the church. If you have some time, please let the church office know. Thank you.
Prayer Request
In your personal prayers this month please pray for Simon’s Study Leave over the summer and that he comes back refreshed. Also, please pray for the recruitment process for the new Assistant Youth worker to replace Luke.
Finally, we want to leave with you with a verse from Romans 15:13: May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
